Alburgh Dunes State Park became a state park in 1996. There are sand dunes located on the natural sand beach, which is one of the longest sand beaches on Lake Champlain. The wetland complex behind the beach is the largest black spruce bog found in Grand Isle County and is rare in this part of the state. This is a great spot to swim and enjoy the water.
