Mayes Landing is located just off the Burlington bike path where the Winooski River flows into Lake Champlain. Conserved by the Lake Champlain Land Trust in 2000 and subsequently donated to the Winooski Valley Park District, this is a perfect spot to stop for a picnic if you are biking, walking, kayaking, or canoeing. During your visit, be on the lookout for wildlife including shorebirds, turtles, beaver, and the occasional jumping fish!
Directions
Mayes Landing is located at the very northern tip of the City of Burlington where the Burlington Bike Path crosses the mouth of the Winooski River. Bikers and walkers will find the park on the right, just before the Bike Path bridge. Visitors may also park at the small parking area at the end of North Avenue and walk less than a quarter-mile down the Bike Path to Mayes Landing.
(Before you visit, be sure to sign up for our Lake Champlain Land Trust E-newsletter!)
