Do you want to help conserve Lake Champlain and the land surrounding it? Lake Champlain Land Trust volunteers help protect the Lake and the Land by removing invasive species, planting trees along eroding shorelines, and adopting trails.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Lake Champlain Land Trust offers four types of volunteer opportunities. (Sign up for our volunteer email list.)
Individual and Team Opportunities
During the warmer months, we invite our volunteers and community members to tackle a restoration project at one of our natural areas. This can include tree planting, invasive species removal, and trail maintenance and improvement.
Lake Champlain Land Trust Business Workdays
Is your local business looking to give back to the land? These workdays are a perfect fit for corporate volunteer days. For more information, contact Matt at (802) 862-4150 x3 or .
“Pop Up” Workdays
Spend an hour or two next to staff to learn restoration techniques and ask questions. At various times during the year, we invite those on our volunteer list to join us in the field. These workdays are based on the weather and seasonal conditions (e.g. the best time to pull an invasive weed). We generally email list members one or two days before the workday.
Adopt-a-Trail
Have you fallen in love with a Lake Champlain Land Trust natural area? We’re always looking for folks to look after our trails. This is a great opportunity for those interested in keeping the trails clear of debris, removing trash, and reporting downed trees and other hazards. Learn more
